Adult Sailing Instructors

Dinghy & Cruising

We are interested in qualified instructors to teach adults that are primarily new to sailing, the basics of sailing in our fleet of Club 420’s and Sharks. The goal of instruction is to provide the basic knowledge and principles of sailing in a safe environment that will provide the student with the fundamental abilities to helm and crew a C420 or Shark in a range of wind and sea conditions.
The program will operate from May to Mid-September. Lessons will be provided on both a private basis that is convenient for the students or on pre-determined weekends, with a course extending over two consecutive weekends.
We are looking for Sail Canada and Ontario Sailing certified instructors or equivalent with First Aid training, their VHF radio license and PCOC certification with the desire to help develop individuals into basic sailors. Your interest in sustaining programs and membership at RHYC and growing our great sport will be rewarded through the accomplishments of the enthusiastic students that successfully complete the course and return to RHYC for future programs.Your skills will contribute to the design of the course and the program and its promotion to best suit the needs of the community.
